2020 Environmental Finance IMPACT Award Winner

We are honoured that Wellington Management’s Global Impact Bond Fund has been named Fixed Income Impact Fund of the Year 2020 by Environmental Finance. Our Global Impact Bond Fund  — our first global, multi-sector fixed income impact fund — was launched in May 2019, and seeks to have a positive, measurable impact by investing exclusively in debt issued by companies and other organisations whose products, services and projects address major social and environmental challenges. Wellington Management announced that Brendan Swords, Chief Executive Officer, will retire from Wellington on 30 June 2021. At that time Jean Hynes, Managing Partner, will succeed Mr. Swords as Chief Executive Officer.

Wellington Management, one of the world’s largest independent investment management firms, and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan (“Ontario Teachers’”), the largest single-profession pension plan in Canada, announced they have expanded their strategic relationship to further integrate leading climate science research into the pension plan’s investment process. For this new initiative with Ontario Teachers, Wellington will continue to collaborate with Woods Hole Research Center, the world’s top-ranked climate change think tank.
