Our Leadership

Our sole business is investment management, informed by the long-term perspective of our private ownership structure. All our 162 partners work full time for the company and its affiliates. This structure has provided stability across many market cycles and aligns our interests more closely with those of our clients. It also helps us to attract and retain outstanding talent, resulting in low turnover within our investment and client relationship teams.

Today

Today, Wellington Management has a significant presence and long-term track record in nearly all sectors of the global securities markets. Still, our history is perhaps best defined not by the number of years we've been in existence, but rather by our focus on stability and growth to help meet the evolving needs of our clients.

A CLIENT-FOCUSED CULTURE

Our culture is encapsulated in the mantra of client, firm, self: we put the interests of clients before the firm and the interests of the firm before ourselves. This is not altruism but sound business sense; without clients, we would have no firm. As a privately owned partnership, we can take a long-term view, because we don’t have to report to shareholders every quarter.

The culture and the partnership are intended to ensure stability at the firm. Our founders realised that if employees like their work and colleagues and if their contributions are recognised, they are more likely to stay. That has enabled the firm to accumulate a wealth of investment and client relationship expertise.

As an investor on behalf of our clients, I need every edge I can get. I appreciate being at a company where the entire focus is on investment management, because it means that the research resources are broad, deep and always evolving to anticipate market developments before they are broadly recognised.
